BLC

The Basantapur Learning (BLC) center is a tuition and scholarization center in the heart of old Kathmandu, welcoming about 150 children during the day, boys and girls with a minimum familial support but left on their own devices during the day.

BLC deals with the complex whereabouts between the children and their families. Many children would not have an access to education and many families would not have attained self – realization of their social responsibilities, if the intervention would not have carried out via BLC. Similarly, many children would have ended up in the streets and many families would have neglected their children if BLC hadn't carried out its intervention. BLC's intervention mainly focuses on children and their families having rural to urban migration. Survival strategies of the parents make the children vulnerable and exposed to dangers such as trafficking, prostitution, and falling into the streets. The intervention of BLC has eliminated the high risk for children to land up onto the streets.
