Biya Transit

Biya transit is a temporary home, where kids who decide to leave the streets will receive individual care and counselling, and will be given enough time to settle down. Counsellors, educators and one psyshologist will follow each children for a period of up to 1 year, after which the best orientation for the child will be decided (re-unification or placement in children home).

Biya Center carries out numerous interventions related to the social and mental development and well – being of ex street children and street youths. Biya provides a safe haven to the children so that they may go through socialization and rehabilitation process. Biya has created a platform for the children so that ex-street children can be socialized through various interventions such as NFE, training and socialization activities etc. The purpose of carrying out the various socialization and rehabilitation activities through Biya is to civilize and socialize the children for family reconciliation or community settlement. Multiple external actors from APC such as Psychologist, Family Reintegration and Follow – up Coordinator and Training and Job – Placement Coordinator plays an important role either for the family repatriation or for the social integration.
